Inhalt
In Corps extrêmes dance, acrobatics and extreme sports meet – and become a radical inquiry into the body: as a store of experiences, as an object we project fears, bravery and risk onto, as a site of self-determination and political debate. Rachid Ouramdane brings nine performers from the Compagnie de Chaillot together with two outstanding athletes: the climber Nina Caprez and the highliner Nathan Paulin. Together they explore the longing for freedom in both physical and narrative terms – as well as its inherent risk. Soaring high and plummeting headlong, feeling trust and losing control, a choreography emerges that is filled with tension, poetry and existential force. Bodies fly, fall, balance – and tell us about what has made them: courage, failure, resistance. Corps extrêmes is a boldly visual evening about being human at the limit of what is possible – and a manifesto for self-determination, vulnerability and the body’s unavailability in a world that often demands too much.
