ALL’ARME
PANZETTI / TICCONI & STUDIO CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY

Three performers move in front of a large blue-lit backdrop. Their bodies lean in different directions, creating dynamic lines through arms, legs, and torsos. The lighting emphasizes movement, spacing, and the overall stage composition.
Several performers move in front of a warm orange backdrop. A central figure raises both arms while other bodies appear partially cropped or blurred by motion. Light and movement shape the visual composition.
Six performers stand in a line before a softly lit backdrop. Their arms extend horizontally, creating a continuous visual line across the stage. Light and shadow reinforce the geometric quality of the formation.
On a bright stage floor, one performer lies on the ground while another leans over them. Several performers stand in the background. The restrained color palette draws attention to bodily positions and spatial relationships.
Several performers move as silhouettes in front of an intensely red-lit stage. A large circular light dominates the background, framing the group and emphasizing overlapping body shapes and gestures.

Synopsis

The term “All’arme!” (in English: “to arms!”) was once a warning cry to summon defenders. From these historical origins Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi have developed a choreography about readiness for alarms, collective dynamics and the fragile borderline between protection and threats. When does defence become aggression? And how do individuals change within a group?

ALL’ARME marks the two choreographers’ first ever collaboration with the Studio Contemporary Dance Company from Croatia. Six dancers use the rhythm of their steps and the power of synchronised movement to develop a dense fabric of formations and shifts. Based on military patterns of movement, they create images of discipline and cohesion which also make their ambivalences visible. Panzetti and Ticconi combine precise dancing with bold visual compositions while highlighting the mechanics of power, community and violence. ALL’ARME shows how closely protection can be linked to threats, and allegiance to confrontation.
